Distinction of Basic & Applied Research stands flawed, writes former Harvard Dean

Former Dean of School of Engineering and Applied Science of Harvard University, Vankatesh Narayanmurti has proposed that the traditional model of basic research and applied research needs to be evolved. In his book, Cycles of Invention and Discovery, he and his coauthor Toluwalogo Odumosu considers segregation of the both somewhere somehow slows down the progress of technology and inventions in the field of science.
